So honored to be included in another incarnation of the “Global Big Band” led by amazing Romanian pianist Sorin Zlat. This is my old teacher and friend Woody Witt’s composition entitled “The Loop” arranged by Thomas Wenglinski. Great chart with some outstanding soloing and playing throughout. Enjoy!

I am very excited and honored to announce that I will be the All-State Jazz Band conductor for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) in 2022!

I am a proud former member of the Texas all-state groups as a high school student and had such a powerful and transforming experience participating. I am looking forward to providing that same experience to the students in my group.

News – February 14, 2021

Happy Valentine’s Day! Due to a bug with my recent Word Press theme, I switched themes. This is a lighter color scheme and I’m kind of digging it! Still some work to do, but little by little.

Since the shutdown, I’ve been having a good time recording Bach chorales all on baritone saxophone. It has given me something to do, and also has forced me to get better on Logic and Final Cut Pro.

News – September 2020

Since the COVID shutdown in March 2020, I have been on the board of a 501c3 non-profit here in the Bay Area helping Bay Area musicians who have lost work due to the coronavirus shutdown.

Music inPlace

We have been paying musicians to produce videos, play livestream concerts and have been providing technical training and in some cases equipment to help musicians produce content in a digital medium.

News – January 26, 2020

Just finished up the third of three commissions for the Western Carolina University Jazz Ensemble, directed by Pavel Wlosok.

Also, the Taipei Jazz Orchestra just released a record called the “Taiwanese Song Jazz Orchestra Commission Project.” They included a new recording of my piece “Four Taiwanese Folk Melodies.” Cool stuff!
